One of our German customers could increase the ladle purging plug durability from 24 charges to a maximum of 34 by optimized usage of the TST unit. Burning and cleaning sequences could be decreased essentially. This reduction leads to less plug changes during the ladle campaign, prevents the well block from damages and has a positive influence on the ladle lining. These advantages result in a cost decrease for refractory.
